Free visual inspection and a written scope of work before any mitigation begins - photos, moisture readings, and drying logs go in your claim file
The scope we write is the scope we bill. Anything new gets shown to you, in writing, before we touch it.
Meet the Auburn Team Behind DryMark Restoration Auburn
We’re the crew that shows up when water’s still moving through your floorboards or smoke’s settled in your attic insulation. Every person on this page has a name, a license number you can verify, and a specific reason they’re on your job. What ties us together isn’t a motivational poster. It’s The Haven Standard, Clause 1 through 7, and the fact that Alicia Brennan still reviews every written scope before a crew starts work in Auburn, Kent, or anywhere else we roll.
Our People
Alicia Brennan, Owner
I started Back to Dry in 2011 after six years as a claims adjuster watching homeowners lose tens of thousands on restoration invoices that couldn’t back themselves up. The documentation gap was real, and it was costing people their coverage. So I built the company around the opposite problem: every job gets a written price before work starts, a photo record on every visit, and a drying log that an adjuster can read without calling me for translation. I’m on-site for the complex jobs, the ones where moisture has traveled through wall cavities into the Valley floor’s older balloon framing. I still carry a Tramex moisture encounter and I’ll show you the readings myself. Off the job site, I’m usually restoring a 1978 Chevy K10 that has taught me more about patience than any water loss ever could.
Marcus T., Lead Water Technician
Marcus has been running extraction and drying crews for nine years, the last four with us. He’s IICRC-certified in Water Damage Restoration (WRT) and Applied Structural Drying (ASD), which means he can calculate a vapor pressure differential, explain it to you in one sentence, and then adjust the dehumidifier placement based on what the psychrometric data actually says. He specializes in crawl space losses in the Auburn area, where the clay-heavy soils south of the Green River slow evaporation and extend drying timelines. Marcus keeps a waterproof notebook in his truck that he’s filled cover to cover with job sketches, moisture maps, and the occasional recipe from a homeowner who’s grateful he showed up at 2 a.m. when a supply line let go.
Diana R., Senior Mold Remediation Installer
Diana runs our containment builds and negative air setups with the precision you’d expect from someone who started in asbestos abatement before moving into microbial remediation. She’s RIA-certified and has completed tertiary drying training, which is the stage where most crews declare victory and leave, but where hidden moisture can restart a mold cycle in Auburn’s damp shoulder seasons. Diana will tell you exactly which materials are salvageable and which need to come out, and she’ll cite the ANSI/IICRC S520 standard while she does it. She grew up in Enumclaw and still points out which hillsides around King County have the drainage problems that predict which basements we’ll be in next.
James K., Service Coordinator
James is the voice you get when you call (253) 487-0371 at 3 a.m. on a Sunday, because we don’t do voicemail trees on emergency lines. He’s been with us three years and has the dispatch timing down to a science: he knows which crew is finishing a pack-out in Federal Way, who’s available in Auburn proper, and which jobs need Alicia’s eyes before we quote. James coordinates directly with insurance adjusters, sends preliminary photo documentation within an hour of crew arrival, and makes sure your written scope reaches you before anyone starts work. He was a firefighter in Pierce County for eight years before a knee injury redirected him, and he still thinks in terms of response time and scene safety.
Elena V., Restoration Apprentice
Elena joined us in 2024 after completing the restoration program at Bates Technical College in Tacoma. She’s working toward her IICRC WRT certification and currently runs the Injectidry panel drying systems and Phoenix dehumidifiers under Marcus’s supervision. She’s already developed a specialty in hardwood floor rescue, which in Auburn’s older neighborhoods near Old Town means knowing when to use a mat system versus when the boards are too cupped to save. Elena documents every moisture reading on our shared drying logs and has never once complained about crawling through a wet crawl space in January. She lives in Auburn with two dogs who have learned to expect her home at unpredictable hours.
One Standard, Every Job

The Haven Standard travels with us whether we’re drying a ranch house near the Muckleshoot Reservation or remediating mold in a multi-family build off Highway 18. Alicia wrote it in 2011 and we’ve never watered it down. Clause 1: written price before work starts, every time, with no exceptions. Clause 3: documented photo record on every visit, included as standard, never sold as an upgrade. Clause 7: the 365-Day Done Right Promise, signed and stamped, not mentioned in passing and forgotten.
Our Auburn crew is independently owned and operated under that standard. We’re not a franchise. We’re not a call center with subcontracted labor. When Marcus, Diana, James, or Elena arrives at your door, they’re background-checked, uniformed, and carrying a license you can verify. The equipment in their truck, Dri-Eaz, Phoenix, XPOWER, B-Air, Injectidry, is the same professional-grade drying systems we deploy across all our operations, documented to IICRC, RIA, and IFA standards. The daily moisture logs we produce are what turn restoration invoices into payable insurance claims. That’s not a marketing line. It’s why Alicia started the company.
If you’ve got a competitor’s written estimate and want a Free Second Opinion, bring it to us. We’ll review it against The Haven Standard, line by line, at no charge. If we can save you money without cutting corners, we’ll show you exactly where and why.
